Why we exist.

Dear Society was born out of a family trip to Jérémie, Haiti—our founder's parents' hometown. Accompanied by her father, Natalie walked the same streets where her parents grew up and witnessed the incredible resilience of the community despite the challenges of poverty and limited resources. This trip exposed her to the harsh realities faced by children and residents, who, despite living in some of the most difficult conditions, displayed remarkable strength and joy. Seeing their struggle to meet basic needs, Natalie felt an urgent call to action.

Though she couldn't individually fund the lives of the hundreds of residents she met, Natalie reflected on what had created lasting, sustainable change in her own life: education. However, she recognized that systemic barriers—like financial constraints—often prevent students in underserved communities from accessing quality education.

In response, we launched the Ambitious Scholars Program, our flagship initiative that empowers young people to progress in their academic pursuits. By addressing a root cause of inaccessibility—financial barriers—we are investing in the leadership potential of students in a country that desperately needs strong leadership, starting in the communities that need it most.

why it matters

When children are denied access to education, they lose far more than the chance to learn—they lose the opportunity to imagine, create, and shape a better future. Without education, they remain trapped in a cycle of economic instability that limits their potential, perpetuates inequality, and holds entire communities back.

Education is the foundation for innovation, leadership, and progress. Yet for too many children, systemic barriers like poverty and lack of resources make education feel out of reach. These barriers fuel the ripple effect of poverty—a vicious cycle that we read about in headlines but rarely hear of being solved.

this cycle can be broken.

But here’s the thing:

At Dear Society,

We’re here to rewrite that story. We’re breaking down barriers, leveling the playing field, and making sure every child has access to the tools they need to thrive.  Our work isn’t just about helping individuals—it’s about building a foundation for stronger communities and more resilient economies.
